The Ludiwigia repens, native to North America, will be placed at the back of the tank because it reaches a good height. it consists of stems and leaves opposed in pairs rather far apart from each other. The leaves can reach 3 cm long.
The leaves at the bottom of the stem are green above and pale violets below. The leaves at the top of the stem vary from red to purple-red.
Ludwigia repens Care
The Ludwigia repens requires a fairly strong lighting (1watt for 2 liters of water), otherwise its leaves will remain green and the bottom leaves may fall. That’s why we need to plant the different stems at a distance of about 3 cm from each other.
The Ludwigia repens is undemanding with regard to water parameters: PH between 5.5 and 7.5, temperature between 18 and 28 °. Rich soil is however recommended.
