For starters, do not buy and mix fish at random. Ask about the races and the differences between these, since there are many of them that can eat each other. Buy tropical fish of compatible breeds among themselves and do no harm.

Be careful with feeding, since there are fish that are herbivores and other carnivores. Try not to mix them and buy only the same fish in this sense so that everyone can feed and be at ease in the same space.

Keep in mind that these fish are used to waters of very high temperatures. Ask a professional to tell you exactly the temperature that these animals require. You most likely need a heater to heat the water and get them comfortable in their habitat.

It is very important to keep a check of the water with these fish, as they can cause deterioration. Be well informed about how often the water should be changed.

Find a suitable aquarium. That has the appropriate size so that they are comfortable and move well. Avoid placing it near drafts and in a place where the sun does not reach directly.

Ask well, since many of these fish can lay eggs and, therefore, the aquarium should be appropriate for it.

If you decorate the aquarium with plants, wash them well before introducing them for health and hygiene for the fish.
